Claire Meadows takes her reader on a dark and at times savage journey through a smouldering, hellish world where smoke, fire, illusion and disillusion play their part, obscuring the light, keeping the voice in a state of perpetual darkness. This is a collection of some of Claire’s classic poetry, as well as never published before new verse. The perfect place to start for all those yet to discover Claire’s work.
Claire Meadows has traversed a diverse path throughout the course of her career. The journey has taken her from being a civil servant at the UK Home Office during the Blair premiership, to founding and heading up one of the UK’s most vibrant cultural forces – Nyne Enterprises Ltd – parent company of After Nyne Magazine, After Nyne Online and the Nyne Creative agency.
She is the author of two previous poetry collections, Gold After and Brittle Fires, both for Tempest Press. Her work has been compared most favourably with that of both Allen Ginsberg and Sylvia Plath.
